Norwex Products I Restock Regularly

Posted on June 25, 2018 Norwex products we restock often in our home

Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of all the products Norwex comes out with that can make your home safer, so here’s a handy list of the products we regularly restock in our home!

Laundry detergent – powder or liquid
Both detergents are SO concentrated they’re very cost-effective, but the best part is they’re hypo-allergenic and biodegradable, so good for our skin AND for the planet. I use both types and probably have a slight preference for the powder.

Stain Remover and Odor Eliminator also both sit on my washing machine for use as needed. The odor eliminator is especially good for when you forget a load of wet laundry in the machine… I run a rinse cycle with a capful of OE then the clothes are good to go! :-)

Super Jet Dishwasher Detergent
Not everyone loves the Super Jet, depending on how hard your water is. We have a water softener and we love it! Just a half tablespoon per load.

Fresh Produce Wash
We use this for washing anything small that you wouldn’t wash with the Veggie Scrub Cloth, so grapes, strawberries, lettuce, etc. It’s crazy what comes off! Glad we’re not eating all that crud.

Water Filtration Pitcher replacement filters
My kids love the taste of Norwex water, and I love that they’re getting filtered water with magnesium and other minerals put back in!

Dishwashing Liquid – have you tried the newest formulation, made in our very own Manufacturing Institute in Dallas?

Mattress Cleaner – it lasts a long time, but I take it in a sample size bottle everywhere I travel, so that uses it up a little faster. Since I have asthma, we use it regularly on mattresses, pillows (including throw pillows), quilts, stuffed animals, and upholstered furniture.

I use the Crystal Deodorant, which seems to last forever, but my kids and husband use our Deodorant Stick, so that’s a common thing on my reorder list.

We have our Peppermint Foaming Hand Wash in both bathrooms and the kitchen sink, so that Refill is a common reorder. Pro tip: dilute it a little when you refill your pump sprayers, then the pumps don’t stick. I fill about 2/3 full then top it off with water.

My skin is pretty low maintenance in the summer, so I just make sure we’re stocked with Aloe Face and Neck Gel – my favorite light summer moisturizer. (And it’s also amazing on sunburns!) My husband uses Rescue Gel on his legs after biking, and of course I always keep Hand Cleaner in my purse for when you just have to dig into the Pringles on the way home from Target…

What do you need to restock?

Some things last forever so it doesn’t seem like we ever need to reorder, like Cleaning Paste and Oven & Grill Cleaner (of course, I RARELY clean the oven…). I think I’m still on my first bottle of Wrinkle Release Spray, too, even though I use it regularly. I pull clean clothes out of the dryer, spray, and hang them in my closet. By the time I’m ready to wear, they’re wrinkle-free! (Hooray for no ironing!!) And those Sanira toilet system refills last forever, too!!

I don’t use the Bathroom Cleaner or Descaler because we’re able to keep things clean with just the Bathroom Scrub Mitt and water. Maybe that’s because of our water softener system? And we don’t use a lot of Hand Cream or Body Lotion or Lip Balm in the summer. I think that’s because by showering with just Body Cloths and water, we don’t have soap drying out our skin!

Did I leave out any of your favorites?

The ‘Key Three’ Norwex Products

Posted on June 24, 2018 The top three Norwex cloths we use daily

The Norwex Window Cloth tends to be our most well-known product, but it’s actually not in my top three products that our family uses on a DAILY basis.  (I don’t wash my windows every day, do you??) These are the Key Three Norwex products that everyone MUST have:

  1. Enviro Cloths – replace your all-purpose cleaner
  2. Body Cloths – replace make up remover, facial cleanser, even acne medication!
  3. Counter Cloths – replace stinky dish cloths and paper towels!

Enviro Cloths are your “go to” for cleaning any dirty surface – bathroom, car, walls, carpet stains – almost anything! I get at least one new Enviro cloth every two years for areas where we need optimum disinfecting…

I replace our Body Cloths every two years as well, and the old ones go in our rag box for messy craft projects and such. They’re SO soft when they’re brand new, and that’s when we get optimum cleaning of our pores (and the easiest makeup removal).

In the past I have gotten new kitchen cloths every year since they are in use all day every day for wiping off the table and countertops, but now the Counter Cloths have become our “go to” in the kitchen. Have you tried them?? You will radically reduce your use of paper towels!

What are your family’s favorites?

You just don’t need window cleaner anymore!

Posted on November 4, 2015

Many of you know I’ve been on a “crusade” for a while to make sure no one I care about buys dryer sheets anymore . User dryer balls instead to be healthier AND save energy!

My new focus is to make sure no one I care about is buying and using window cleaner, because you just don’t need it anymore! Technology has advanced so that you can use our high-tech microfiber and just water. So don’t chance your kids and pets licking the residue off your sliding glass door, not to mention reducing your own chemical exposure while cleaning. Oh, and how many trees will you save by not using paper towels?

Use our Norwex basic pack instead. (Don’t let the word “basic” fool you – these things are magical.) Not only is it a healthier way, it’s ALSO faster and easier! AND, you buy them once and use them for years – cheaper, too!

Do you know anyone still buying window cleaner? I’d love to do a quick demo for them!

P.S. They’re not just for windows. You can use them all over your house – kitchen, walls, bathrooms, even carpet stains!

No More Window Cleaner

Why I Started Teaching People About Norwex

Posted on September 17, 2015

Six years ago I was looking at my children (ages 3 and 5 at the time – see how adorable?), and thinking about our family history of various autoimmune diseases. I really wanted to know if there was anything I could do to give them the best shot at growing up without chronic health problems.

Kids Tea Party

The list in our family was getting kind of long: allergiesasthmaCeliac diseaseJuvenile Diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis – all stuff where our immune system attacks our own bodies. What was going on? A friend recommended the book The Autoimmune Epidemic. There were lots of eye-openers, but the biggest thing mentioned, that hadn’t been on my radar at all before, was basic household cleaning chemicals.

I had heard before that kids that grow up in cleaner homes have more allergies and asthma. The theory was that these kids just weren’t exposed to enough germs, so their immune systems got bored and started attacking themselves or something. Now we’re getting smarter and we realize it’s not the lack of exposure to germs, it’s the increased exposure to cleaning chemicals.

So I started looking for greener options. I got a book with recipes for making your own cleaners. Who was I kidding? I don’t even like to cook, so that solution wasn’t likely to sustain itself for long. I bought some more natural cleaners, but they just didn’t work very well. I don’t like cleaning anyway, so I didn’t have much patience with it taking longer. I kind of gave up and decided I would just clean less.

When my cousin started describing Norwex to me, I kind of blew her off, thinking, “Yeah, I’ve tried those green cleaners. No thanks.” Plus, I really didn’t want anything to do with a party business. I had tried one before and knew I was a lousy salesperson. It wasn’t until I saw her wipe butter off a mirror with just a cloth and water that I went, “Wait, what?? How did you do that??”

She sent me home with a set of the basic cloths to try, and I (the non-cleaner, remember?) deep-cleaned my kitchen for two and a half hours that night. It cleaned the grease/dust mixture from the top of our microwave. It was literally “squeaky” clean! Then I did the walls around the stove – WOW! I couldn’t believe how EASY this was. It seemed like magic. All I was using was just a wet cloth! It “looked” like a rag, but this thing was actually a high-tech cleaning power tool!

I realized I had found what I’d been looking for. Not only would this provide the safe haven I wanted for my kids, it actually made cleaning easier and faster!! Everyone I knew deserved to see this stuff in action. I realized the reason Norwex is sold in parties is that you really have to SEE a demo to get the power of the cloths. Cleaning with water doesn’t *sound* like it would work. You have to see it in action.

So I invited some friends over to show them what I’d found, and here we are! I had NO idea it would turn into a full-time income and a life mission for me, but that’s a whole other story… :-)

Does my story resonate with you? Please reply and let me know!

A Better Dishwashing Soap

Posted on August 29, 2015

I did some dishes by hand this morning, and realized a little while later that my hands didn’t feel all dry and scratchy like they used to after dishwashing. It has to be the new improved Norwex dishwashing liquid !

norwex dish soap

It makes sense. Most dishwashing liquids subject our hands to harsh chemicals – that’s how they get our dishes clean and make all those suds that we really don’t need. But Norwex’s formula is now greener and gentler to my hands. It is free from phthalates, SLS, SLES and dyes that can harm us with extended use and harm our rivers and lakes where they eventually end up. It still gives me suds and gets my dishes sparkling clean with no need to hand dry to avoid spots. I just leave them to drip dry on the super-absorbent Norwex dish mat. And, instead of perfume (fragrance which also has chemicals in it), it is scented with essential oil of Clementine for a crisp citrusy smell.

My hands love it, my dishes love it, my nose loves it, this is a NO BRAINER – it’s Norwex dish soap for me! And of course I use it together with our no-more-stinky dish cloth and our ThermoPlastic rubber bottle brush . Especially with the new extensions that were just released for the brush, I have the perfect tool for every job!

How Do I Use My Norwex Cloths?

Posted on September 5, 2014

It was so amazing!  This woman cleaned off ALL this crusty dog slobber so quickly and the sliding glass door looked gorgeous!  So of course I bought the Norwex cloths, and now they just arrived and…  how do I use them again??

Clean Window

(No, she didn’t make the dog disappear.)

Whatever you do, DON’T leave your amazing Norwex cloths sitting in the bag on your counter because you can’t remember how to use them!

Here are step-by-step instructions for how to use and how to clean Norwex cloths:

norwex basic pack1.  Start with the Enviro cloth (check the tag in the corner for which cloth is which). Get it wet, and wring it out.

2.  Fold the Enviro cloth in half, then in half again, so it’s a square.  Hold it flat in your hand, so all those millions of tiny fibers can grab all the gunk off your surface.

3.  Find the dirtiest spot in your kitchen and scrub it clean using just the Enviro cloth and water!  Try your stove hood, or on top of the refrigerator, or the wall beside your stove.  When one side is dirty, refold the cloth another way so you have a clean square.

4.  When you’ve used all the clean surfaces of your cloth, or when you finish the job, take it to the sink and under running water, scrub the cloth against itself.  If it’s really greasy and dirty, you can use just a little dab of dish soap to help release the grease.  Rinse well.

5.  Now take both cloths into a bathroom that needs to be cleaned.  Start with the mirror – wipe with the damp Enviro cloth first to get rid of all the toothpaste and hairspray.  Then wipe with the Polish/Window cloth.  Doesn’t it look gorgeous?

6.  Do the same thing to your faucet – damp Enviro first, then wipe with the Polish cloth.  Wow!  You’re an AMAZING housekeeper!!!

7.  Wipe the rest of the countertop and sink with the damp Enviro cloth.  Wasn’t that easy?  And truly, that surface is probably cleaner than it’s ever been, with no chemical residue left behind!

8.  Scrub out the Enviro cloth again under running water, wring it out, and hang it up to dry until you need to use it again.  The BacLock silver agent is self-purifying the cloth as it dries!

9.  Sit down and be amazed by how easily and effectively you can clean now!

10.  Once a week, or more often if heavily soiled, wash your cloths in your machine in hot water with three simple rules:

  • no bleach
  • no fabric softener (NOT liquid or dryer sheets)
  • low lint (wash with sheets or jeans, NOT cotton towels)

A laundry detergent without fillers or fragrance is best.  I love our Norwex Ultra Power Plus detergent!

SO EASY! Norwex cloths have a two year warranty, so you will save so much money not having to go down that cleaning aisle in the grocery store again!

Any questions?

Help Your Dust Mite Allergy the Easy Way

Posted on September 1, 2014

As I was following a rabbit trail on Pinterest (don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about!) I came across this article on how to clean your mattress.

Now I completely agree about our pillows and mattresses being “the ideal breeding ground for bacteria and dust mites.”  But thank goodness there’s an easier way than dragging it outside and beating on it!

Dust Mites

Norwex Mattress Cleaner is an enzyme spray that “digests” the allergens in our beds, just like enzymes in our body digest our food.  Dead skin cells are what dust mites eat.  You probably didn’t WANT to know that you shed enough skin cells every day to feed a million dust mites.  But the most harmful allergen found in our beds is the, uh, after-effect of dust mites eating.  You know, their poop!  Did you know that’s mostly what we react to when we’re allergic to dust mites?

Preventing dust mites is tricky.  Lots of us have tried special covers on our pillows and mattresses, but the New York Times reported a study showing that those aren’t as effective as we would like. Norwex Mattress Cleaner

Norwex Mattress cleaner is NOT a pesticide.  It’s not a chemical that kills anything.  Because we wouldn’t want to breathe in a toxic chemical all night any more than we want to breathe in dust mite poop!  It simply works its way through your mattress “eating” away the allergens, converting them to carbon dioxide and water.

It’s not just for mattresses!  Spray on pillows, comforters, stuffed animals, upholstered furniture, vehicle seats, and pet beds.

A light mist will do it – about two sprays per pillow, and 12-15 sprays on a king-size bed.  Allow to dry before putting on clean sheets.  For severe allergies, spray once a month.  Otherwise every 3-4 months is fine.  So one bottle lasts a year or more!

The most amazing testimonials I’ve received from my Norwex customers are about this product. Husbands who’ve stopped snoring, kids who’ve stopped coughing at night, moms who are able to wear contacts because their eyes aren’t dry and itchy, people who don’t sneeze multiple times every morning anymore.  I personally ALWAYS travel with a samples-size spray bottle of mattress cleaner for hotel room beds!  Who do you know who needs some desperately?
