You just don’t need window cleaner anymore!

Many of you know I’ve been on a “crusade” for a while to make sure no one I care about buys dryer sheets anymore . User dryer balls instead to be healthier AND save energy!

My new focus is to make sure no one I care about is buying and using window cleaner, because you just don’t need it anymore! Technology has advanced so that you can use our high-tech microfiber and just water. So don’t chance your kids and pets licking the residue off your sliding glass door, not to mention reducing your own chemical exposure while cleaning. Oh, and how many trees will you save by not using paper towels?

Use our Norwex basic pack instead. (Don’t let the word “basic” fool you – these things are magical.) Not only is it a healthier way, it’s ALSO faster and easier! AND, you buy them once and use them for years – cheaper, too!

Do you know anyone still buying window cleaner? I’d love to do a quick demo for them!

P.S. They’re not just for windows. You can use them all over your house – kitchen, walls, bathrooms, even carpet stains!

No More Window Cleaner

Why I Started Teaching People About Norwex

Six years ago I was looking at my children (ages 3 and 5 at the time – see how adorable?), and thinking about our family history of various autoimmune diseases. I really wanted to know if there was anything I could do to give them the best shot at growing up without chronic health problems.

Kids Tea Party

The list in our family was getting kind of long: allergiesasthmaCeliac diseaseJuvenile Diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis – all stuff where our immune system attacks our own bodies. What was going on? A friend recommended the book The Autoimmune Epidemic. There were lots of eye-openers, but the biggest thing mentioned, that hadn’t been on my radar at all before, was basic household cleaning chemicals.

I had heard before that kids that grow up in cleaner homes have more allergies and asthma. The theory was that these kids just weren’t exposed to enough germs, so their immune systems got bored and started attacking themselves or something. Now we’re getting smarter and we realize it’s not the lack of exposure to germs, it’s the increased exposure to cleaning chemicals.

So I started looking for greener options. I got a book with recipes for making your own cleaners. Who was I kidding? I don’t even like to cook, so that solution wasn’t likely to sustain itself for long. I bought some more natural cleaners, but they just didn’t work very well. I don’t like cleaning anyway, so I didn’t have much patience with it taking longer. I kind of gave up and decided I would just clean less.

When my cousin started describing Norwex to me, I kind of blew her off, thinking, “Yeah, I’ve tried those green cleaners. No thanks.” Plus, I really didn’t want anything to do with a party business. I had tried one before and knew I was a lousy salesperson. It wasn’t until I saw her wipe butter off a mirror with just a cloth and water that I went, “Wait, what?? How did you do that??”

She sent me home with a set of the basic cloths to try, and I (the non-cleaner, remember?) deep-cleaned my kitchen for two and a half hours that night. It cleaned the grease/dust mixture from the top of our microwave. It was literally “squeaky” clean! Then I did the walls around the stove – WOW! I couldn’t believe how EASY this was. It seemed like magic. All I was using was just a wet cloth! It “looked” like a rag, but this thing was actually a high-tech cleaning power tool!

I realized I had found what I’d been looking for. Not only would this provide the safe haven I wanted for my kids, it actually made cleaning easier and faster!! Everyone I knew deserved to see this stuff in action. I realized the reason Norwex is sold in parties is that you really have to SEE a demo to get the power of the cloths. Cleaning with water doesn’t *sound* like it would work. You have to see it in action.

So I invited some friends over to show them what I’d found, and here we are! I had NO idea it would turn into a full-time income and a life mission for me, but that’s a whole other story… :-)

Does my story resonate with you? Please reply and let me know!

How Do I Use My Norwex Cloths?

It was so amazing!  This woman cleaned off ALL this crusty dog slobber so quickly and the sliding glass door looked gorgeous!  So of course I bought the Norwex cloths, and now they just arrived and…  how do I use them again??

Clean Window

(No, she didn’t make the dog disappear.)

Whatever you do, DON’T leave your amazing Norwex cloths sitting in the bag on your counter because you can’t remember how to use them!

Here are step-by-step instructions for how to use and how to clean Norwex cloths:

norwex basic pack1.  Start with the Enviro cloth (check the tag in the corner for which cloth is which). Get it wet, and wring it out.

2.  Fold the Enviro cloth in half, then in half again, so it’s a square.  Hold it flat in your hand, so all those millions of tiny fibers can grab all the gunk off your surface.

3.  Find the dirtiest spot in your kitchen and scrub it clean using just the Enviro cloth and water!  Try your stove hood, or on top of the refrigerator, or the wall beside your stove.  When one side is dirty, refold the cloth another way so you have a clean square.

4.  When you’ve used all the clean surfaces of your cloth, or when you finish the job, take it to the sink and under running water, scrub the cloth against itself.  If it’s really greasy and dirty, you can use just a little dab of dish soap to help release the grease.  Rinse well.

5.  Now take both cloths into a bathroom that needs to be cleaned.  Start with the mirror – wipe with the damp Enviro cloth first to get rid of all the toothpaste and hairspray.  Then wipe with the Polish/Window cloth.  Doesn’t it look gorgeous?

6.  Do the same thing to your faucet – damp Enviro first, then wipe with the Polish cloth.  Wow!  You’re an AMAZING housekeeper!!!

7.  Wipe the rest of the countertop and sink with the damp Enviro cloth.  Wasn’t that easy?  And truly, that surface is probably cleaner than it’s ever been, with no chemical residue left behind!

8.  Scrub out the Enviro cloth again under running water, wring it out, and hang it up to dry until you need to use it again.  The BacLock silver agent is self-purifying the cloth as it dries!

9.  Sit down and be amazed by how easily and effectively you can clean now!

10.  Once a week, or more often if heavily soiled, wash your cloths in your machine in hot water with three simple rules:

  • no bleach
  • no fabric softener (NOT liquid or dryer sheets)
  • low lint (wash with sheets or jeans, NOT cotton towels)

A laundry detergent without fillers or fragrance is best.  I love our Norwex Ultra Power Plus detergent!

SO EASY! Norwex cloths have a two year warranty, so you will save so much money not having to go down that cleaning aisle in the grocery store again!

Any questions?

Car Detailing So Easy a Child Can Do It!

Carpooling to the Norwex national conference is as good an excuse as any to get the car cleaned up inside and out! My children helped because they like being a part of my success.  (And I rewarded them with a trip to the donut shop…)Cleaning the Car

Our only tools were a handheld vacuum and the Norwex basic cloths with water!

Windows so clear you think you’re in a convertible? Norwex Enviro cloth and water to clean and Window Cloth to polish!

Cleaning up the dashboard? Norwex Enviro cloth and water.

Stains on the seats? Norwex Enviro cloth and water.

Old, dried strawberry smoothie that I didn’t know had spilled on the floor in the back seat? You guessed it! Norwex Enviro cloth and water.  Can you believe it??

Seriously miraculous!  Yes of course I’m happy we didn’t have to use any chemicals, but the bottom line is, it was so EASY!

For the outside, I could have gotten out the hose and my Norwex car wash mitt but instead I chose to drive through a gas station car wash, use the cheapest wash, drive home and then polish it with the Norwex car cloth. Gorgeously shiny, streak-free, and because I removed all soap residue with the car cloth, dust won’t stick to it so it will stay cleaner longer!

I’ve even heard customers say they’ve washed their car in the garage in the middle of winter with just a bucket of water, the Norwex car wash mitt, and a car cloth.  Because you’re not using any soap, you don’t need to rinse with a hose, and it dries so quickly with the car cloth.

Do you love having a clean car?
